Assalamualaikum everyone. My name Aqilah and I'm a quantity surveyor student from University Malaysia Sarawak. Lately, I feel really tired and exhausted due to online distance learning. Actually, I just finished my last paper for the final exam which is the BEQ1092 Pre-contract. Being a quantity surveyor is not an easy path where you have to deal with a lot of document preparation like contract and tender documents. Besides being an quantity surveyor also you must deal a lot of client request so patient is the key. Personally I'm not type of person who have an a good communication skills so sometimes I started to doubt why I taking a quantity surveyor where in the future I have to deal a lot of people in construction industry. Feeling a little bit of dejavu listening to hey jude while writing this blog HAHAHA.
Oh, ya back to my course background, quantity surveyor actually monitor or estimate the finance of the project. The most interesting part is QS is a middle person who created a contractual relationship between the two parties. Sometimes people call QS an accountant in the construction industry. They are the person who involves at the beginning of the project until the project is used. But still, the quantity surveyor still not a well-known job in the construction industry like architect or engineer or contractor. But too early I say that QS is an overworked job since I still a student who has not fully exposed to the construction industry. Until now my blog for today and I hope this will give a little bit of what is quantity surveyor students learn.
